Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany

Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is a United States Marine Corps base located just west of Albany, Georgia. The base is home to the Marines’ logistics command and provides support for units throughout the southeastern United States. MCLB Albany is also home to a number of tenant units, including the Marine Aircraft Group 49 (MAG-49) and the 4th Supply Battalion.

MCLB Albany traces its origins back to 1942, when the U.S. government acquired over 19,000 acres of land in Dougherty County for the construction of a naval supply depot. The depot was commissioned in 1943 and played a critical role in supporting the war effort in the Pacific Theater. Following the end of World War II, the depot was downsized and renamed Marine Barracks Albany.
