Autoworld is a car museum. Located on the south side of Cinquantenaire Park, the Brussels Autoworld Car Museum displays hundreds of historic cars as well as the cars of the royal family.
Gent-born Ghislain Mahy’s curiosity about automobiles and mechanics led to the opening of this museum. Autoworld is a great museum for car enthusiasts. There are vehicles from every era. From horse-drawn carriages to sports cars to motorcycles, the museum has a wide range of vehicles.
Among the cars on display are the 1922 Ford Model T, which became one of the world’s best-selling cars and was produced until 1927, the FN 1300 Sport, the 1925 Hanomag Kommissbrot, the 1927 Ravel Type, which attracts attention with its boat-like structure, the 1934 Citroen Type 7A, Citroen’s first front-wheel drive car, and the Volswagen Beetle, known as the people’s car of the 50s.
At the Autoworld Automobile Museum, you can see many types of automobiles such as the 1955 Messerschmitt, which attracts attention with its cockpit-like structure, the front-door BMW Isetta Type, the Cadillac series cars that almost entered the museum from the movies, the Amphibicar, which can go both on land and at sea, and Alpine, one of the famous sports cars of the 70s.
For those of you who have already visited the car showroom at Istanbul’s Rahmi Koc Museum, the cars at Autoworld will not be unfamiliar to you. Some of the car models here are also in the Rahmi Koç Museum. In fact, maybe this is the case in all car museums.
There are also temporary exhibitions at the Autoworld Car Museum from time to time. Some collections, such as special racing cars, are touring car museums around the world. You may also come across such an exhibition. If you are a private car enthusiast and plan to visit the museum based on the exhibitions, you can check the website of Brussels Autoworld.
