If you are looking to escape Antalya's scorching heat and throw yourself into the arms of a cool forest, Kurşunlu Waterfall is a fantastic escape route. However, there are some critical details you need to know before you come here. You might not always find that gushing water you see in old photos on the internet, or you might think you can easily tour it with a stroller.

In this guide, I will tell you not just about the beauty of the view, but also about the condition of the stairs, the prices inside, and the best visiting hours based on my experiences.

Kurşunlu Waterfall Entrance Fee 2025

Kurşunlu Waterfall is not an archaeological site under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, but rather a Nature Park under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. This technical detail means one thing for your wallet: The Museum Pass (Müzekart) is not valid here. You need to pay the entrance fee in cash or by credit card at the gate.

  • Full Ticket: 70 TL
  • Discounted (Student): 35 TL (ID card required)
  • Parking: Fortunately, when you arrive with your rental car, you do not pay an extra fee for parking; the area is quite large.

Prices at the businesses and cafes inside can be a bit above the Antalya average. It would be more logical for your budget to handle your water and snack needs before entering or to bring them with you.

Visiting Hours and The Best Time

The park is open to visitors every day of the week. You can visit between 08:00 in the morning and 19:00 in the evening during the summer season (April-October), and until 18:00 during the winter season.

The main issue you need to pay attention to here is the water flow. During the hottest days of summer (July-August), the waterfall can sometimes flow weakly, or the water level might not meet your expectations. If you want to see it in its most majestic state, spring months or late winter are definitely the right times. Also, on weekends, especially Sundays, it gets incredibly crowded as locals flock here for picnics. If you want to listen to the sound of silence and nature, aim for weekday mornings, preferably before 10:00.

Where is Kurşunlu Waterfall and How to Get There?

Kurşunlu is located within the borders of Aksu district, approximately 20-25 kilometers from Antalya city center (Kaleiçi side). This place is frequently confused with Düden Waterfall; while Düden is considered to be inside the city, Kurşunlu is hidden a bit deeper in nature.

  • By Private Car: While following the Antalya-Isparta road, signs will direct you after passing the airport junction. Most of the road is asphalt and smooth, and the forest road at the end is also quite comfortable for driving. The best part is that there is a free parking area at the entrance gate.
  • By Bus (Current Lines): If you are going to use public transport, the most guaranteed option is the MK80 (Demirciler - Kurşunlu Waterfall) line. This is the main line that takes you right up to the entrance of the waterfall. If you miss this bus or the time doesn't suit you, you can also consider the MK80A or VF66 lines that pass by the waterfall road as alternatives.

The closest stops you need to get off at are 13682 - Kepez Şelale Cd-10 or 12944 - Kepez Şelale Cd-6; these are about a 3-4 minute walking distance to the entrance area. The average journey time is about 45 minutes from Kaleiçi, and can take up to 1 hour depending on traffic if you are coming from MarkAntalya or the Bus Terminal (Otogar) side.

  • Tram Warning: You might see the 15111 - Şelale1 tram stop on maps and think "I'll go by tram." However, this stop is about a 21-minute (1.5 km) walking distance from the waterfall. Walking that road in Antalya's summer heat can be quite exhausting, so preferring a direct bus or car instead of the tram would be much more comfortable.

What Awaits You Inside?

When you enter the park, a large picnic area welcomes you first. This is not a place choked under barbecue smoke; since lighting a fire is prohibited, it is a clean area where you can just take your cold sandwiches and thermos to enjoy.

The real adventure begins when you start descending the stairs towards the canyon. Here is an important warning for this part: If you are coming with a baby stroller or a wheelchair, seeing the main waterfall is unfortunately impossible. You need to descend numerous steep and sometimes slippery stone stairs. Choosing comfortable sneakers with non-slip soles is vital; flip-flops or high heels will give you a hard time here.

The Hidden Passage Behind the Waterfall

When you descend the stairs, you will see that famous turquoise pool and the main waterfall cascading from a height of 18 meters. One of the most enjoyable parts of this place is the hidden walkway that passes behind the point where the waterfall drops. Watching the outside from behind the curtain of water and feeling that coolness is truly a mesmerizing experience.

The hiking trail isn't just about the waterfall. If you follow the path continuing along the river, you can see calmer ponds far from the crowd and a 200-year-old historic water mill. Along the trail, ducks, geese, and if you are lucky, water turtles will accompany you.

Food, Drinks, and Facilities

There are cafeteria-style businesses downstairs right next to the waterfall and upstairs at the entrance area. You can find Turkish pancakes (gözleme), toast, tea, and coffee. However, to be open, visitors are sometimes a bit confused about the prices and service quality here. Prices operate on a tourist tariff. If you are planning a budget-friendly trip, the most guaranteed way is to bring your food with you to use in the picnic area.

You will also see tourist activities inside like riding a camel or pony, or taking photos with a parrot. While these kinds of activities attract the attention of families with children, the decision regarding the conditions of the animals and the fees requested is entirely up to you.

In short, Kurşunlu Waterfall is one of the most peaceful corners of Antalya if you go at the right time, with the right shoes, and a bit prepared. Make sure to add it to your Antalya places to visit list, especially if you have an interest in nature photography.
